This is my personal emailed newsletter called “The Way of Love.” The name is based on the name of my blog, “The Beginnings Of.” I started my blog when I started my DTS with YWAM and I knew it was the beginning of something big but I didn’t know what. I have been wondering ever since then what exactly it was the beginning of and I felt like God gave me the answer in October of 2015 at a prophetic conference while I was listening to one of the speakers: “The Way of Love.”

Happy New Year! This week I have been in the middle of a war. And I’ve been a participant and an observer. Haha. Well, it seemed like a legit war zone here for New Years. Almost every home in this entire city shot off fireworks! It was incredible! Hundreds and hundreds of houses shooting rockets into the sky and then the very next second another hundred. It lasted for almost twenty minuets. I didn’t even know there were that many fireworks in Prishtina. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience; I even got to help add to the commotion with a pair of 8 shot Roman Candles that I bought for only three Euros. 😉 So cheap!
The rest of this week the team went out and did the ministries that God put on their heart. On Wednesday, they went out with the point of finding the specific people group that really seem to struggle here in Prishtina. They were able to bless several people and then the next day we went out with the intent of connecting again with people that we had already met. One group went back to the family they blessed the day before and the girls of the family remembered them and their names and invited them to chat. But there was no translator and that made things difficult to say the least. The team had been praying for a translator earlier in the day, though. While they were in the home, someone called out to a little boy that was coming in, and the team (who were all French speakers) recognized his name as French. The little boy actually spoke French and Albania and he was able to translate for the team! Such a cool way for God to provide!
That night we decided that we wanted to help that family this winter and that we wanted to crochet scarfs for them. So most of the team went out New Years day to find yarn. The problem was thought that everything was closed and there is only one place in the city that we have been able to find yarn, the bazaar. And that was closed too. But wait a second! The gate’s open. Lets just go see if anyone is there. Lets just check the yarn shops in the bazaar. Why not? Oh who’s that guy? Oh he’s trying to talk to us. He speaks German? Carole can you transla… Oh you already are. Uh huh. Ok. Ya. I still have no idea what your saying. Maybe Carole should ask him if he owns a yarn shop? Wait, were is he leading us? No way! NO STINKING WAY! You’ve got to be kidding me! He DOES own a yarn shop and he’s opening it just for us! WOW! God is so cool!! On a day when no body should be here! Wow! Thank you Jesus!
It was such a crazy thing. Seriously, no body should have been there! He actually invited us back too so that we can have coffee with him. We got a lot of yarn and came back to the house and started to crochet. There were like 8 or so of us all crocheting scrafs and things for that family. We cant wait to finish them and be able to give it to them. This week has been a cool collection of random encounters and random stories. Next week we will be doing some similar things and we cant wait to see what God has en-store for then.
Thank you everyone for your support and prayers! Email me anytime with questions or comments. I would love to chat! 🙂 Love you all!
Romans 8:31-39 NLT
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
– For more wisdom to know how to lead.
– For more understanding of His love and how He never changes.
– For more of a relationship with Him and that these things He is teaching me would go deep into my heart.
– That the enemy would be even more exposed and destroyed by the Truth.
– For the family that we are crocheting for that they would know the love of Jesus!
